The Travelling Mabels

St. Andy’s Rythmn and Roots was rocking to the rafters on November 16 with the four Traveling Mabels. From down home country to uptown jazz Momma Mabel, Purdy Mabel, Spunky Mabel and Unstable Mabel kept the sold out crowd spellbound. Raconteur Momma Mabel segued between numbers with hilarious stories that kept the crowd roaring. Both instrumental and vocal numbers, all professionally rendered, were enthusiastically received. The crowd of mostly Cochranites but others from , Calgary and other places, filled out the audience.
Music and laughter made for a rollicking evening.
The Traveling Mabels are a folk/country group from Southern Alberta. Eva Levesque, Lana Floen, and Therry Lawson come together to bring music with melodic harmonies and humourous lyrics. Together with Keith Floen, they play originals, as well as old favorites of country/roots. Their wealth of expertise on stage, allows them to captivate a wide range of listeners. Their inspiration ranges from Dolly Parton to Cheryl Crow, to The Eagles, and to Bob Dylan.
